Vegas after Harry
Las Vegas, which saw a flurry of new arrivals after Prince Harry’s nude romp there this summer, is again reporting an increase in tourists (this time sans naked Prince).
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority reported Thursday that 3.4 million travelers came to town in September—a 1.8 increase over the same month in 2011. Average hotel rates went up one percent to $113 per night. Clark County gambling revenues of $761 were up year-over-year, showing a 1.2 percent gain on the Las Vegas Strip and a 24 percent rise on the Boulder Strip. Citywide occupancy rates rose to about 87 percent.
