Virgin America appoints flight operations VP
Virgin America has appointed Brad Thomann as vice president – flight operations who will start this new role with immediate effect.
Thomann, brings 30 years of experience in civil and military aviation and will be responsible for all flight operations including flight training, engineering, flight standards, flight crew communications, and crew resources.
Thomann has held senior positions at Boeing and United Airlines, along with a 26-year service career in the US Navy.
Thomann previously held the role of chief pilot and general manager – flight operations for Virgin Australia overseeing 1,200 staff and a fleet of over 100 jets.
"With an aviation career spanning over three decades, Brad brings an impressive depth of experience to this important new role", said Virgin America COO Steve Forte.
"The delivery of new aircraft between 2015 and 2016 will grow our fleet by nearly 20% and this new position will be invaluable as we enter this exciting next phase in our history.
Thomann will be based at Virgin America’s Burlingame, California HQ.
