Virgin enters First Choice mainstream bidding?
Virgin has emerged as a surprise new bidder for the mainstream business of First Choice.
MyTravel has already expressed an interest in the package holiday arm of First Choice while Thomas Cook is also seen as a likely candidate.
However, a Virgin spokesman was quoted in the Daily Telegraph as saying “we’re looking at it”.
Speculation centres on Virgin Holidays teaming up with a private equity firm to make an offer.
The First Choice mainstream holiday arm is expected to be worth more than £500 million.
