Wotif.com ranked as #1 website for second year in a row
Wotif.com, Australia’s leading accommodation website, proudly announced yesterday that it has been ranked the #1 Travel – Destinations and Accommodation website across Australia, according to Internet intelligence service Hitwise*, for the second year running.
The number one ranking is based on ‘user visits’ to a site measured against all other Australian websites within the category, and Wotif.com’s high volume of traffic has once again seen it top the list of Travel – Destinations and Accommodation sites.
Commented Graeme Wood, CEO of Wotif.com: “We are thrilled to once again receive this award, which reaffirms our leading position in the online accommodation marketplace. It directly correlates with the efforts we have put into the site in 2005, including the extension from a 14 to a 28-day accommodation booking window, coupled with consistent growth in bookings, new users and product inventory.
“Wotif.com remains at the forefront of the highly competitive online accommodation industry by continually delivering a fast and easy-to-use website, great rates and the broadest range of properties.
We genuinely appreciate our loyal customers and would like to thank them for their on-going support in helping us secure this distinguished award. We look forward to evolving our website further and providing even more reasons to keep coming back to visit,” he added.
Each day, Hitwise monitors how more than 2.74 million Australian Internet users interact across over 160 industries, and collect Internet usage information via ISP data partnerships in order to calculate the ranking of sites.
