Club 18-30 to close at end of month

Thomas Cook will wind up its iconic Club 18-30 brand on October 27, according to the BBC.

The report says the operator will instead concentrate on its Cook's Club brand, which is launched in April and which it believes will appeal more to millenials.

The operator had tried to find a buyer for Club 18-30 over the summer but had not been succesful.

The BBC reports UK chief executive Ingo Burmester saying: "We are increasingly focused on our core own-brand hotel portfolio and feel that the Club 18-30 brand no longer fits in with our wider programme.

"Having taken the summer to explore our options we have, in the absence of a viable alternative that makes sense for Thomas Cook or the brand, decided that Club 18-30 will close at the end of this season."

The last holiday will be a trip from Manchester-Magaluf in Majorca, the BBC said.
