Bali's jobless tourism workers go back to farming

With Indonesia's tourism hotspot bereft of tourists, thousands of Bali's furloughed tourism workers are kicking their heels. There is virtually no financial safety net for most workers, who are having to make ends meet any way they can. For the lucky ones that means working in the informal sector or returning to their childhood villages to work the land.

The trouble is, Bali's arable land is fast disappearing due to - you've guessed it -  tourism overdevelopment.

    Most are actually off island implants from Java and Sumatra and lots have already returned home.
