Body of missing British man found in Portugal

The body of a British man who has been missing since falling from a banana boat three weeks ago in Portugal has been found.

A passerby spotted the body of Richard Chapelow in Santa Clara Dam, about an hour north of the Algarve, and a post-mortem is now being carried out.

He had been on holiday in Portugal and was part of a group of 10 Britons taking part in watersports in the area.

He was one of four people who fell from an inflatable banana boat. The others managed to climb back on board.

A search for his body was suspended last week.
