New chair for business travel body

The newly-named Business Travel Association, formerly the GTMC, has appointed Suzanne Horner as chair of its executive board.

She replaces Paul Allan who stepped down following Clarity's acquisition of Ian Allan Travel in May this year.

Horner, CEO of Gray Dawes Group, becomes chair of the association just as it rebrands from the GTMC and embraces a new, wider strategy and expanded scope of work.

She is also currently the chair of the BTA's People Strategy Group where she leads on the association's mission to attract new talent to the corporate travel sector.

BTA CEO Adrian Parkes said: "I'm excited that one of the last things I do in my role as CEO is to welcome the association's first ever female chair of the board. Her range of experience and passion for what our new brand stands for in its collaborative and inclusive approach to future-proofing the sector is unrivalled. I'm pleased to see her leading the way in this new chapter."

Horner said: "I'm thrilled to take up this role at such an exciting time for the association. I'm looking forward to working closely with the new CEO and board on delivering the new BTA strategy and continuing the hard work we've already started to implement on behalf of our TMC members and their clients, as well as partners and other industry associates. We have a bright future ahead."
