Glasgow strike suspended for further talks

Strike action by staff at Glasgow airport today has been suspended to allow for 'meaningful talks' with management.

Unite the Union said the four-hour stoppage has been postponed.

But strikes on Friday morning and more on July 11-15 are still planned.

Members of Unite union, which include security officers, fire safety workers, and airfield operations officers, are in a dispute with the airport's management over pay and pensions.

A Glasgow Airport spokesman said 'robust, compliant and safe contingencies' are in place to ensure passengers continue to be unaffected by any strike action.

Meanwhile, Unite confirmed that its members working at Aberdeen Airport have voted to accept the latest offer on a 98% turnout with 60% voting in acceptance.

"This now ends the dispute," it said.
