TripAdvisor study shows which nation's visitors rate the UK most highly

A TripAdvisor study has found inbound visitors from the US are the most positive overall about their UK trip.

On average, they rate UK hotels as 4.30 out of 5 and UK restaurants a generous 4.29 out of 5.

But it's the Lithuanians who rate UK restaurants the highest of any visiting nation, with a score of 4.57, while Lebanese travellers give the highest ratings for UK things to do, with an average rating of 4.66.

Meanwhile, visitors from Luxembourg are the most critical of UK hotels, with a rating of 3.86 out of 5.

And Kuwaiti travellers are the hardest to please when it comes to dining out, rating UK restaurants with an average of 3.82.

Japanese travellers tend to rate UK things to do the lowest of other nations, although their average rating is still relatively high at 4.17.

The data was based on a minimum threshold of 400 reviews from each market in the 12 months from 1 April 2018 to 31 March 2019.
