NCLH reveals cost of Hurricane Dorian

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings reported the highest quarterly revenue in its history from July to the end of September, despite the disruption caused by Hurricane Dorian.

The company's revenue rose 3% to $1.9 billion, although its earnings fell from $470.4 million in the third quarter of 2018 to $450.6 million for the same three months of this year.

Hurricane Dorian, which forced NCLH to cancel cruises, re-route others and provide relief efforts, wiped $0.06 per share off the cruise company's earnings.

The hurricane caused extensive damage to the Bahamas in September.

NCLH president and CEO Frank del Rio said: "The underlying fundamentals of our business remain as strong as ever, allowing us to post another solid quarter of financial results despite the impacts from Hurricane Dorian.

"The top line exceeded expectations and we recorded the highest quarterly revenue in our history."

He said the company, which includes Norwegian Cruise Lines, Regent Seven Seas and Oceania Cruises, is on track for 'a record-breaking' year.
