Party in the Alps

Megeve, one of the most exclusive resorts in the French Alps, is to host a repeat of its successful three-day music and food festival, held in the resort for the first time last year.

PLAY Megeve will take place this season from March 27 to 30.

The three-day festival will offer a long weekend of skiing, dancing, dining and relaxation

It brings what the organisers call 'Ibiza-style' DJ sets to the mountains alongside pop up bars and food trucks serving local cuisine.

Additional activities include sauna, hammam, yoga and even helicopter flights over Mont Blanc glacier.

Megeve, one of the oldest ski resorts in the world, has until recently been the preserve of middle-aged, well-off skiers who can afford its pricey hotels and even pricier restaurants, but the opening of a Folie Douce bar on the slopes of St Gervais, which can be easily accessed from Megeve, is now attracting a younger crowd.

Its PLAY festival could be combined with the Spring Lounge Music event being hosted at nearby Les Gets, which is part of the Portes du Soleil ski area, from March 23 to 31. Musical performance take place every day from 10am to 11pm in bars, restaurants and outdoor spaces, and range from apres ski sessions to intimate dinner performances, with genres from hip hop to folk and jazz.
