Abercrombie & Kent chief executive resigns

Abercrombie & Kent Group chief executive Amerigo Perasso has stepped down after less than four months in the job.

Co-chairman Manfredi Lefebvre d'Ovidio has become acting chief executive.

A company spokesman said Amerigo, a former Silversea CEO and company lawyer, had joined the business earlier this year 'to advise and support' on A&K's sale to the Heritage Group.

The Heritage Group, which is owned by Lefebvre - who is also executive chairman of Silversea -  bought A&K from a Chinese investment company. The Heritage Group now owns 85% of the business and A&K founder Geoffrey Kent owns 15%.

Perasso was appointed chief executive in late August, replacing Kent during the transition and integration period.

"With this now complete, Amerigo has stepped down from the role of CEO at A&K to focus on other projects commencing in January 2020," added the spokesman.

Earlier this month, A&K bought ailing luxury operator escorted tours operator Cox & Kings for an undisclosed sum.
