United to add additional London to New York flight

United Airlines will increase the frequency of its flights from London to New York to six-times daily, offering more flights per day to Newark Liberty International Airport than any other carrier operating from Heathrow.

The airline currently offers five flights a week between the two airports, using a Boeing 767 aircraft.

"The introduction of this additional flight demonstrates the success of our services from London Heathrow to the East Coast and also underlines the significant increase we have seen in customer demand for premium seats on this important route," said Bob Schumacher, MD sales UK and Ireland.

"Our New York hub provides our UK customers with more travel options, not only to the Big Apple, but also offers an extensive range of connections from Newark to almost 100 destinations across the US, Canada, the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America and South America."

The additional daily flight will start on March 29.

All United's flights on the route will feature its new business and premium plus seats.
