NCL raises room service fee

Norwegian Cruise Line has quietly hiked the room service fee on all ships.

The room service charge is now $9.95 per order, up by $2, although continental breakfast and coffee will remain free.

According to the NCL website, the price hike reflects an 'enhanced room service menu' with expanded breakfast choices, and 'a wider variety of options available 24 hours.'

A 20% gratuity and beverage service charge is added for non-complimentary beverages and special occasion items.

Guests staying in The Haven will still receive all room service orders free of charge.

Since it began charging for room service, NCL fees have been among the most expensive, and its latest hike may see other lines increase their fees.

In comparison, Carnival charges room service fees ranging from $2 to $6 on selected orders.
