Mauritius Airport re-opens after cyclone warning

Mauritius Airport has re-opened after closing on Friday amid a cyclone warning.

Holidaymakers in the destination were advised by the Foriegn Office to monitor local and international weather updates from the Mauritius Meteorological Services and follow the advice of local authorities.

Gusts of up to 110 km/h hit the island on Friday night along with heavy rain, thunderstorms and rough seas.

The cyclone warning was lifted on Saturday morning local time and the latest weather reports show the post-tropical depression is now moving away from the island.

The FCO had warned of ongoing disruption to flignts on Saturday but flights appear to be departing on time today (Monday).
