CLIA releases new dates for Facebook Live webinars

Cruise association CLIA UK & Ireland has released new dates for its upcoming Facebook Live webinars, aimed at travel agent members, following its launch last year.

During the live learning sessions CLIA UK & Ireland director, Andy Harmer will be joined by cruise line executives to discuss upcoming news, latest trends and to provide selling tips. There will be an opportunity for viewers to ask questions.

Previously the webinars were held on In 2019 CLIA moved over to Facebook Live to reach a larger audience.

Some of last year's most popular webinars were with Virgin Voyages, Silversea, and a special expedition evening webinar joined by Aurora Expeditions, Ponant, Celebrity Cruises and Scenic. All live learning sessions drew in over 2,400 unique viewers and reached an estimated audience of 5,000.

Harmer said: "Hosting our live learning sessions on Facebook made sense as it's the main social platform our travel agent members use, and it's great to see increased engagement with our members following the move. 

"Through the live learning sessions, we hope to support agents in expanding their industry knowledge, helping them to grow their cruise sales and gain a deeper insight into the different sectors of the ever-evolving cruise industry."

Upcoming dates for CLIA's upcoming Facebook Live webinars are:

February 7, 9-10am with Emerald Cruises' director of marketing and global brand, David Winterton to discuss its newly announced super-yacht, Emerald Azzurra (above).

February 12, 9.30-10.30am with Shearings Holidays' national sales manager, Michael Bowers

February 19, 7-8pm with AmaWaterways' Jamie Loizou, Avalon Waterways' Janet Parton and CroisiEurope's John Fair

More dates will be announced over the coming months.
