Co-operative Travel homeworkers report record January sales

The Personal Travel Agents at Co-operative Travel have reported record-breaking sales in January, up 23% on 2019.

Average earnings for its 170-plus homeworkers rose by 11% year on year, it claims.

The homeworking business, affiliated to Midcounties Co-operative, achieved sales of more than £9.8 million in the January peak booking period, the company's highest performing January to date.

It also recorded its best year since the business was formed in 2012, closing at overall sales of £52 million.

January 7 was its biggest day of sales to date but that record was beaten on January 9 and again on January 25, it said.

One in five of the bookings were generated via social media and social media sales in the period were up 46% on January 2019.

Cruise holidays and long-haul getaways sold particularly well, with cruise bookings up 45% year on year and sales of long-haul holidays up by 11%.
