Flight attendant dies after jumping from Sheraton balcony

A flight attendant died after jumping from the 17th floor of a Sheraton hotel.

The woman was named as 33-year-old Katherin R. Fiorentino from Massachusetts.

According to her social media profile, she worked as a flight attendant for Southwest Airlines.

Hotel workers at Sheraton Birmingham Hotel in Alabama were called after reports she was displaying 'erratic behaviour.'

After throwing her cellphone over a balcony she ran and jumped over the wall as hotel security were speaking to her.

She landed on a second-floor lounge roof and was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said they are investigating the incident.
