Shanghai Disney Resort announces partial reopening

Shanghai Disney Resort is slowly reopening in phases but the Shanghai Disneyland theme park will remain closed for the time being.

It said a 'limited number of shopping, dining, and recreational experiences' are reopening in Disneytown Wishing Star Park and Shanghai Disneyland Hotel this week.

Disney management said it will continue to 'monitor health and safety conditions' before giving the green light to open the theme park.

Extra precautions have been introduced with 'strict and comprehensive approaches on sanitisation, disinfection and cleanliness' it said on the park's website.

"Every guest entering Shanghai Disney Resort will be required to undergo temperature screening procedures upon their arrival, will need to present their Health QR Code when entering dining venues, and will be required to wear a mask during their entire visit," it said.

There is increasing evidence China is slowly containing the outbreak with infection rates decreasing.

Disney has reminded guests to 'maintain respectful social distances' in all areas of the park including in restaurants and stores.
