Dnata group to furlough one in three UK staff

Dnata Travel Group is to take advantage of the Government's recently announced Job Retention Scheme and will furlough a third of its UK staff from April.

The scheme will allow the parent company of Gold Medal, Travel2, Travel Republic, Travelbag and Netflights to retain jobs for the future and the move revokes a previous announcement by the group that all staff take 10 days' unpaid leave.

Those with 'key specific operational functions essential to supporting agents and customers with bookings' will be kept on but will take a temporary pay cut of between 20-30%.

Dnata said: "While we're confident we have taken all of the necessary available steps at this time to protect our brands and our people, we will continue to monitor the situation and keep further options open.

"We want to thank our staff and industry partners for their incredible professionalism and commitment during these difficult times, we are proud to be part of a sector which we know will return stronger when this period is over."
