Another SeaWorld CEO steps down

SeaWorld Entertainment is on the lookout for yet another new CEO.

Sergio Rivera lasted just five months after being appointed in November 2020.

He is the third CEO to leave in just over two years.

Like his predecessor Gustavo Antorcha, Rivera cited boardroom disagreements.

"The board remains united in guiding the company through the tough but necessary decisions to best position the business for long-term success," chairman Scott Ross said in a statement.

CFO Marc Swanson has taken charge as interim chief executive and will remain so until the company starts bringing in revenue again.

"The board will review the role once the company reopens its theme parks," a SeaWorld SEC filing said.

All parks have been closed since mid-March and announced it will temporarily lay off 90% of its employees.
