GBTA postpones Denver convention

The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) has postponed its annual convention due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The event was due to take place in Denver on July 25-29 2020 but will now take place on November 7-11.

It is the first time in the convention's 52-year history that it has been rescheduled.

"This unprecedented move comes in unprecedented times," said GBTA chief operating officer and executive director Scott Solombrino.

"We are all working to ensure the safety of business travellers and their families.~We are hopeful that the pandemic will subside on a global level and that we will be able to help travel managers and sponsors determine how best to revive the industry when we meet in November."

He said the event might be postponed further if the pandemic hasn't passed and restrictions are still in place.
