EasyJet holidays introduces deposit transfer option

EasyJet holidays is to allow customers with bookings for this summer to transfer their deposits to a new booking made within the next year.

It said the initiative would provide 'greater flexibility' for anyone due to travel this June, July or August.

The operator had previously announced that customers who have fully paid for summer holidays can change their bookings online to another holiday currently on sale and due to depart up to October 2021.

For a limited time, customers choosing their option will also be offered a discount, it said, although it didn't specify the exact amount.

Alternatively customers have the choice of receiving their holiday cost back, plus an extra amount as a 'thank you', as online easyJet holidays credit to use towards a future holiday. The option will remain in place until May 12, 2020.

"EasyJet holidays hopes to be able to send customers on holiday this summer so the remaining option for existing customers with a peak summer holiday planned, is to keep hold of their booking," it said. "Any customers still wanting to travel this summer should make any outstanding balance payments towards their holiday as normal. Customers with fully paid holidays in this scenario do not need to do anything currently."

The company is currently only cancelling holidays in strict departure date order and in line with FCO Travel Advice.

When a holiday is cancelled, easyJet holidays is offering customers refunds back to their original payment method, which it says are being processed within the 14-day window required by law.
