Industry urged to get behind Just a Drop haircut challenge

International water charity, Just a Drop, is asking  those in need of a lockdown haircut to do the job themselves and donate the cost of their usual haircut through the charity's JustGiving Page

Donations made to the #JustaHaircut challenge will go towards Just a Drop's Coronavirus Emergency Response Programme, ensuring over 380,000 people from remote and often forgotten communities across Asia, Africa and Latin America can access safe water and training around Covid-19, handwashing and soap-making.

It said this will help vulnerable communities reduce the spread of the virus.

Just a Drop is also helping to support the livelihoods of people who have lost their income. Founder and chairman of Just a Drop Fiona Jeffery, said: "Many of us need a haircut, so why not have some fun, take the plunge and with the money you save make a donation that will help save lives. We've seen some brilliant and brave haircuts so far and we are really looking forward to seeing what else comes in!"

If you would like to get involved with the #JustaHaircut initiative, you need to:

  • Cut or clipper your hair and film yourself doing so
  • Donate the cost of your usual haircut to Just a Drop through their JustGiving Page
  • Share your videos and photos online with your message of support and nominate three friends to do the same.
