A-ROSA plans to restart cruises at the end of May

River cruise specialist A-ROSA is planning to restart selected departures on the Rhine and Danube at the end of May.

The move follows the relaxation of rules by the German and Austrian authorities regarding the opening of hotels, restaurants, river cruises and day cruises for tourists.

CEO Joerg Eichler said: "Following the long period of lockdown, we are delighted to be able to welcome our guests on board again and enable them to enjoy their holidays with us. It goes without saying that our primary responsibility is for the welfare of our guests and crew. Therefore, we have put together a team of experts consisting of both internal and external hygiene and health specialists."

Lucia Rowe, managing director of A-ROSA River Cruises UK and Ireland, added: "We hope the industry will be encouraged by the fact that A-ROSA is already making plans to sail again. Obviously, once customers from the UK are able to travel overseas, we look forward to welcoming them back on board."
