Haven extends park closures

Haven has extended the closure of all of its UK holiday parks from June 1 to July 2, despite the Government's easing of the lockdown restrictions.

Health secretary Matt Hancock indicated this week that holiday accommodation wouldn't be allowed to re-open until July 4, at the earliest.

In a statement, Haven said: "The safety of our guests, owners and team members remains our number one priority and so under the ongoing circumstances, we believe keeping our parks closed is the right thing to do.

"We appreciate how disappointing this decision will be for those families that were due to stay with us during this time and wish we could have offered them the Haven experience they were so excited for.

"We'd like to apologise for the disruption caused by the extended closure and hope guests can understand the reason for our decision."

It said affected guests are being contacted with new options available to them, adding that guests should 'continue to check both our website and social media channels for additional updates'.

Guests whose bookings have been cancelled are being offered a full refund or a new booking with £50 drinks voucher to spend in the parks.
