Las Vegas Airport installs PPE vending machines

Las Vegas McCarran Airport is the first to automate the sale of PPE items.

Personal protective equipment can be bought at vending machines across the airport.

The airport posted a Tweet of the vending machines which are located at the T1 ticketing area and near the T3 TSA checkpoint.

According to the post the machines sell various PPE items including gloves, masks, wipes and hand sanitizer.

It is collaborating with vending machine supplier Prepango for the three machines.

It comes as all major US airlines now require passengers to wear masks or similar face coverings at airports and on planes, although in the cabin, airlines are being more flexible and will not force the issue.

"It's not unthinkable that someone can show up at the airport and forget one of these items that are now almost essential for travel,'' said Christine Crews, spokeswoman for McCarran Airport.
