Butlin's extends cancellations to mid July

Butlin's resorts will stay closed at least until July 16, the company announced today.

Clients whose bookings have been cancelled have been given the option to rebook for a later date, in which case they'll receive a £50 resort voucher as a gift plus a guarantee that if the price falls before their holiday they'll receive a refund of the difference.

Holiday credit to be used before December 31, 2021 or cash refunds are also an option.

The company is asking guests to wait until 28 days before their holiday to get in touch as it is dealing with large volumes of cancellations and teams are working from home.

"We're working through in date order so please don't worry if your break is coming up soon or your arrival date passes and you haven't heard from us - all of your options remain open to you and we will respond to everyone," it said in a message on its website.

"Our team are working from home so it may take a little longer to get back to you than we would like, but we have been able to help the majority of guests affected to date, either to find a new break in the future or process a refund."
