Ryanair expects 'minimal' traffic in June

Ryanair said it expects minimal traffic this month due to government-imposed travel restrictions.

The airline group saw passenger numbers plummet 99.5% last month, when it carried just 70,000 passenger compared with over 14 million in May 2019.

Of the 701 flights it operated last month, Ryanair said a number were rescue and medical flights on behalf of various EU governments.

It is currently operating a handful of flights from the UK, but it has previously said it will resume flights from most of its UK bases in July.
