Police investigating Madeleine McCann case appeal to British tourists

Police investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann have appealed for British tourists to help identify the former homes of the new suspect.

German prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters told Sky News that German police need more information about where Christmas B lived during his time in the Algarve so they can search for Madeleine's body.

Madeleine was nearly four when she vanished from her family's holiday apartment at the Mark Warner Ocean Club in Praia da Luz in May 2007. She had been left sleeping with her young twin siblings while their parents dined at a tapas restaurant with friends nearby.

Christian B, aged 43 is currently in prison for drug offences and has been identified as a prime suspect in the Madeleine case after new evidence came to light.

German police believe there are other British, Irish or American people victims of sex attacks and has urged them to come forward.

He told Sky News: "After all the information we got, the girl (Madeleine) is dead. We have no information that she is alive."

Wolters said his investigation covered the entire time the suspect lived in the Algarve, from 1995 to 2007.

"We need help from the people, from British tourists that might have been between 1995 and 2007 in Praia da Luz. Only with these calls we can solve the case of Madeleine McCann."
