Intrepid praised for sympathetic email to agents

Intrepid has been praised for being one of the few suppliers to acknowledge the challenges agents have been facing during the pandemic crisis in one of its email communications.

In a post on social media, homeworker Cathie O'Dea said it was refreshing to receive a more sympathetic and thoughtful email rather than one that simply said 'your case has been solved' or 'we are taking longer than normal' or 'we are busier than usual'.

O'Dea said the email was appreciated and 'won't be forgotten when I choose who to support going forward'.

The sales email from Intrepid starts: "I hope you are all safe and well during these crazy days!
With a lot of agencies opening up again now that restrictions are being lifted, I wanted to send a quick email to say thank you for being on the front lines and dealing with all the challenges the last few months have presented the industry.

"We know it hasn't been easy, and being a travel agent can sometimes feel like a thankless job. Needless to say, we appreciate all the support you have given our amazing industry and we thank all our partners for helping us navigate through such difficult times. We are here to support you and your business in any way we can!"

Responding on the Facebook Travel Gossip page, Carrie Day, Intrepid EMEA's partnership growth manager for Ireland and Scotland, said: "Thank you so much for this lovely post! We know that it is so tough for you all right now and I honestly wish I could send a personal email to each and every one of you to thank you for all the hard work you have done. Being a travel agent can sometimes be a thankless job, but rest assured we really do appreciate everything you guys do for us! This post has put a huge smile on my face! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! (smiley emoji)."
