Cathay Pacific adds Covid insurance

Cathay Pacific has added free Covid-19 cover for all passengers from today until the end of February.

The cover, which will be automatically applied, is supplied by AXA General Insurance Hong Kong Limited.

It includes the cost of a Covid PCR test and hospitalisation if needed, with medical expenses extended to US$200,000.

Customers will receive an allowance of US$100 per day per passenger for up to 14 days to help them during periods of unforeseen and mandatory quarantine.

The airline has also said it will ensure affected customers and travel companions get home.

Passengers also get a 24/7 emergency hotline via the phone or WhatsApp message.

Customers are covered for a period of 30 days starting from the date of their departure, or until they return to their home, whichever is earliest.
