Jet Airways plans to take flight again in summer 2021

Jet Airways 2.0 could be up and running by next summer - more than two years after it abruptly closed down and went into administration.

New owners Kalrock Capital and UAE businessman Murari Lal Jalan have already had revival plans approved by Jet Airways' creditors.

It is now awaiting approvals from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and a return of previoulsy held airport slots.

"Jet Airways intends to operate all of its historic domestic slots in India and restart international operations," the consortium said.

"If everything goes to plan and receives regulatory approvals on time, it would be back in the skies by the summer of 2021."

It plans to operate its previous full-service business model and also launch a dedicated freighter service.

It plans to go back to its hubs in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru.
