Hawaii vacation rentals outperforming hotels

Vacation rentals have been outperforming traditional hotels in Hawaii. The Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA) Vacation Rental Performance Report for February, 2021, showed that more people chose to stay in vacation rentals than hotels during the month.

HTA said occupancy levels at vacation rentals were just below 50% but hotels were well down at about 30%. The island of Hawaii had the best vacation rental occupancy rate at nearly 60%.

The agency said the average rate per night in rentals was $242 which is just slightly cheaper than the average hotel room.

    makes sense as they don't charge those ridiculous resort and parking fees, some resorts adds up to $65 plus tax per day!!
