Thailand discussing travel bubble with Singapore

Thailand's Tourism Ministry plans talks with Singapore for a two-way travel bubble between the two countries. Tourism Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn said discussions will start this week.

The minister said the countries are targeting 1 October as a potential start date of a travel bubble. Thailand is also exploring further travel corridor agreements across the ASEAN region, particularly with Laos and Vietnam which have low rates of Covid.

Phiphat said there is a plan to open up Thailand to travellers from the Gulf region due to the relatively high rate of vaccinations. Thailand has cut is current quarantine period and will open up the island of Phuket in July for quarantine-free visits for vaccinated travellers.
