Wizz Air to take off from Cardiff Airport

Following the Welsh Government's lifting of the ban on international travel, Wizz Air UK will start operations at its new Cardiff base from 17 June.

Wizz Air is connecting Cardiff to nine sunshine destinations, available to book on wizzair.com or the airline's mobile app.

It will fly to Faro, Portugal which is on Wales' green list, as well as Larnaca, Corfu, Heraklion, Alicante, Lanzarote, Palma and Tenerife from 17 June.

Flights to Sharm el-Sheikh are scheduled to start in October.

"With the re-start of international travel from Wales, we're excited to be planning the start of Wizz Air UK's new base at Cardiff Airport in June, just in time for the holiday season," said Owain Jones, Managing Director of Wizz Air UK.

"Wizz Air UK's Cardiff team is looking forward to welcoming customers on-board Wales' new hometown airline."
