MSC to resume US sailings this summer

MSC Cruises will restart cruise operations out of the US this summer from two Florida ports.

MSC Meraviglia will launch short Bahamas cruises from PortMiami from 2 August as well as seven-night Bahamas and Caribbean cruises in September.

MSC Divina will offer Bahamas itineraries from Port Canaveral in September.

It is subject to a successful MSC Meraviglia test cruise scheduled for next month.

MSC Cruises has completed port agreements with PortMiami and Port Canaveral which is part of the CDC's Conditional Sailing order.

"To ensure the safest experience, we previously announced a fleet-wide vaccination program for all crew and we expect that the majority of our guests booking a cruise this summer will plan to be vaccinated prior to sail," said Rubén Rodriguez, President of MSC Cruises USA.

Vaccinations are not mandatory for guests but said there will likely be some restrictions applied for those unvaccinated.

Details of updated onboard health protocols will be announced soon.
