American Airlines expands Delhi flight launch

American Airlines is upgrading its New York to Delhi service - even before the route launches.

The route is set to launch on 31 October which goes ahead as planned but American will fly the route daily from the start, rather than its initial plan for three times a week service.

Originally American planned to go to daily service only from 17 November through 1 January 2022 to meet demand during the busy winter season.

It will now be a daily, year-round service.

It will be hoping the Covid-19 situation in India significantly improves by then. Currently the US has banned non-resident travellers if they have been in India in the past 14 days.

American's long-delayed launch of flights to Bangalore from Seattle takes place on 30 October.

It marks American's first direct service to India since 2012.
