Premier Inn sees surge in demand

Premier Inn has seen demand surge at hotels in popular holiday spots across the UK, as international holiday options remain extremely limited. Premier Inn owner Whitbread says it expects demand to remain high during the summer in seaside and other tourist locations.

Unsurprisingly, its hotels at airports have struggled to fill rooms, while demand is also weak in London.

The company lost £1bn in the year ending February 2021 due to the enforced closure of its restaurant brands including Beefeater and Brewers Fayre.
