Emirates restarting flights from India

Gulf carrier Emirates will resume flights from India again starting tomorrow 23 June.

The UAE had suspended all flights from India in April due to India's huge surge in Covid cases at the time.

It will only carry passengers 'with a valid residence visa and who have received two doses of a UAE-approved vaccine' according to UAE rules.

All travellers require proof of a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours of departure and will take another PCR test on arrival and must quarantine pending the result.

There is a huge population of Indian overseas workers in the UAE and Indians make up about 30% of Dubai's population.

"Emirates welcomes the latest protocols and measures announced by Dubai's Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management to allow the safe resumption of passenger travel," the airline said
