Disney Cruise Line cancels test cruise following 'inconsistent' Covid results

Disney Cruise Line is the latest cruise company to postpone its scheduled test siling due to crew Covid test issues.

It says it has a 'small number' of positive tests after testing all crew, which it describes as 'inconsistent results.'

"We are delaying our simulation cruise due to a small number of inconsistent Covid-19 test results, which are considered positive by the CDC," the line said.

"The rigorous protocols we have in place helped us identify the situation, though the test results were ultimately negative."

It said five tested positive on the Disney Dream.

Following discussions with the CDC, they were retested a day later and were negative.

However under CDC policy, the cruise line canceled the sailing and hasn't scheduled a new date.

The simulated cruise was originally scheduled to depart today with only crew members aboard.

Royal Caribbean and Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line have both been forced to cancel sailings due to crew infections just ahead of their planned restart dates.
