American Airlines sues Sabre for 'misleading' travel agents

American Airlines is suing distribution partner Sabre over its new airline storefront which it says is misleading travel agents and favors rival Delta Air Lines for premium fares.

The suit claims Sabre is displaying 'inaccurate and misleading' information and it is giving more incentive for travel agencies to book on Delta.

"Sabre's breaches of its contractual duty to display American flight and fare content in a fair, accurate, and non-misleading manner have caused and will cause harm," the lawsuit said.

"Travel agents and customers need and are entitled to transparency and the fair and unbiased display of travel information through a GDS. Sabre's storefront forces travel agents to take extra steps to find American products, services and fares comparable to Delta products."

Delta is changing its payment model for booking made through Sabre which is based upon the booking amount.
