Plane crashes in Far East of Russia

Debris has been spotted in Russia's Far East after a plane crashed in the remote Kamchatka peninsula. The small plane owned by Kamchatka Aviation Enterprise reportedly hit a rock as it came into land at Palana Airport and crashed near the coastline.

It was carrying 22 passengers and six crew members. The plane lost contact with air traffic control while attempting to land.  The AN-26 plane had been in operation for nearly 40 years.
