Heathrow to offer fast-track screening for vaccinated amber list arrivals

Heathrow Airport is rolling out fast-track lanes for fully vaccinated travellers coming from amber list destinations.

It will allow passengers from some countries to upload their vaccination status before boarding.

The pilot programme will be trialled by British Airways and Virgin Atlantic using dedicated arrivals lanes.

The trial is due to start this weekend for flights from Athens, Los Angeles, Montego Bay and New York.

The NHS app, a US issued CDC card, US state digital certifications and the EU digital Covid certificate are accepted.

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps is set to confirm details of the pilot programme this week.

"At the moment the main barrier to people who have been doubly vaccinated travelling being allowed to do that, is being able to demonstrate to the government that we can check that they've had the vaccination already," Heathrow Airport CEO, John Holland-Kaye told the BBC.
