Virgin Voyages US debut delayed again

Virgin Voyages' long-delayed US debut has been pushed back again.

It has now canceled sailings from Miami in September and early October on Scarlet Lady, and will now begin Caribbean voyages on 6 October.

It means the first three scheduled sailings are scrapped.

The delay doesn't impact Virgin's planned UK domestic cruises this summer.

Guests on the cancelled sailings will be given a 125% refund or a 200% future cruise credit.

The new cruise line had been preparing to launch just as the Covid pandemic hit in March 2020.

Its launch has since been pushed back multiple times.

The cruise line also postponed the debut of its second ship, Valiant Lady, from November this year to March 2022.
