Singapore Airlines takes flight again from Manchester

Singapore Airlines has resumed flights from Manchester Airport to Singapore.

It restarted at the weekend after a long hiatus caused by Covid restrictions.

Flight will operate initially three times weekly to and from Singapore, with an A350-900 aircraft featuring Economy, Premium Economy and Business Class cabins.

The Lion City is deemed a safe destination by the UK government although the city state is still closed for general tourism purposes.

Following the recent reopening of Phuket, Thailand, allowing fully vaccinated UK travellers to arrive quarantine-free, Singapore Airlines is offering fares starting from £565 in Economy, including an onward connection to Phuket, following the integration of regional airline SilkAir earlier this year.

"We are very pleased to relaunch our flights from Manchester after an enforced break of nearly 16 months. Given our long history with the airport, we are also excited to be one of the first airlines to welcome passengers to the new Terminal 2 and look forward to flying the region's travellers to Singapore and beyond, once more," said Mohamed Rafi Mar, SIA General Manager, UK and Ireland

Manchester Airport's Managing Director, Karen Smart said: "We are pleased Singapore Airlines has resumed its direct service. Singapore Airlines is one of our longest serving airlines and we know its routes have been extremely popular with passengers from across the North over the years.
