CDC tracing hundreds of air passengers over monkeypox virus

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) confirmed a US resident flew into the country with monkeypox and is monitoring 200 people that he may have come into contact with.

The CDC is working with Texas state officials as well as the airline to monitor them who potentially may have caught it. It impacts over 200 people in 27 states.

It is a rare viral disease with a first known human case reported in 1970 in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Outside of Africa it has only been found in the US, UK, Israel and Singapore.
