Nearly six million holidaymakers coould be affected if Spain, Greece go 'amber plus'






If Spain and Greece were to follow France onto the 'amber plus' list, it could put holidays in jeopardy for nearly six million people, Labour says.


There has been speculation that Greece and Spain could go amber-plus which would mean fully vaccinated holidaymakers would still have to isolate on their return, although the government hasn't officially confirmed it.


France was the first country to get amber plus status over concerns about the Beta variant. Labour's shadow transport secretary Jim McMahon said the government has 'failed to protect our borders, allowing Covid cases to rocket' and has 'refused to be straight with the public and give them the information they need to book travel with confidence.'
