Iceland airline PLAY plots expansion to the US

Icelandic startup airline PLAY plans to launch transatlantic flights to the US by next year. PLAY has applied to the Department of Transportation for authorization to operate US flights. CEO  Birgir Jonsson previously said it is eying roués from Reykjavik to Boston, New York and Washington DC.

PLAY has asked ford 'expedited processing' of its permit as it targets summer 2022 to launch US flights. PLAY launched in Europe earler this summer with seven routes including London, Paris and the Canary Islands.
